SHOOTERS and Fishers Party MLC, Robert Brown, said today he is meeting with the NSW Minister for Primary Industries Katrina Hodgkinson, to discuss salmon netting and a number of other issues of concern to recreational fishers.
He said the Government needs to be transparent on the reasons for its decision to allow large scale salmon netting.
In a media release Brown says the Shooters and Fishers Party has delivered for recreational fishers in a number of key areas in recent years.
"I can point to John Tingle's victory on Kingfish traps, and then more recently to the Upper House Inquiry into recreational fishing, the Moratorium on new Marine Parks, the blocking of the closure of the Gaden Trout Hatchery, fighting for access points at Port Kembla, and we take credit for the win at Fish Rock.
"The Party will continue its efforts on behalf of recreational fishers," he said.
